Heavy melodic rock from Orlando, Florida.
No one is sure exactly where North Origin began, but those who should know recall this story: Apparently Jon, along with then girlfriend Amanda, came up with a catchy guitar/bass riff, which eventually became a 3 minute song. Unfortunately, neither of them fancied themselves as either lyricists or singers (the author notes that despite their doubts they can both harmonize like songbirds in the winter night). It was at this same point in time that Dave found himself living in Orlando with nothing but a computer and a guitar. He also began to write music, albeit on a less serious note. Jon heard Dave's material and liked the sound of it, leading him to send Dave the music he had been working on with a request for lyrics and vocals. Dave obliged, and North Origin was born. The band quickly evolved, first cobbling together songs online, then forming up officially in Orlando with the addition of Andy on the drums and Eric on guitar. After a few months of incredible songwriting and their first round of eye-opening and just as incredible shows, Andy had to move on, sparking the beginning of a revolving door era in the band lineup. The most notable of temporary additions to the band in this era had to be Derrick, now playing with local band Lucid Fly. At the end of this tornado of talent, North Origin ended up with Dave on the vocals, Jon on rhythm guitar, Eric on lead guitar, Jeff on drums, and Dallas on the bass. Life was good for North Origin. Though the band was playing more and more frequently and the level of songwriting was solidifying into a unique and solid sound, Dave and Jon eventually had the heavy task of shutting the whole operation down. North Origin had been steaming along for three years at this point, and it was time to tie up some other goals. Eric, Jeff, and Dallas went on to pursue other successful avenues. This was not the end for North Origin, however. In the last few months, Dave and Jon have been hard at work on a new record featuring brand new music along with previously unlreleased classics. They haven't been doing this alone though, keep an ear open for some very talented guest musicians. Stay tuned.

Lyrics
push back the tide and open wide the doors that keep him in the boys assume you own the tomb and with it all the sin [ch] i'm breaking away from you your life and your past completing myself i don't need you at last the hall is dark the walls are stark and from it comes a shape you recognize you close your eyes hands strain against the tape [br] reminding me of all those things you said to break me down inside and now you're coming back to me and taking what you left behind
