It is a good thing to question our own beliefs. Other people certainly will... so why not beat them to it?

Introducing the greatest talent ever to emerge from the orange bedroom at my parents house. I play guitar like.... well, like a guy playing guitar. I tickle ivories. I twiddle on the computer. I sometimes enjoy beans on toast for breakfast. And in the cracks between the eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, working, breathing experience that is my life there sometimes slips out songs like these.

Story behind the song
I don't think any of us ever get the whole picture. We need to listen. We need to learn from each other. Those totally different from us can offer a way of seeing we may never have experienced. We should never be afraid to question our beliefs or challenge our deeply held assumtions. We should try something new! Such is the only way we ever grow. I took on an unfamiliar music form (unfamiliar that is to a white middle class British guy) as a way of underscoring the lyrical idea of questioning what we think we know. I was overjoyed many years later when I had a chance to play this song with a genuine jamaican reggae singer... and he gave it a thumbs up.
Lyrics
Why Should I Be So Right? Seen so many people selling me their philosophies Trying to tell me what's right And here am I proclaiming a way That I believe to be in every-bodies sight But why should I be so right? And why should they be so wrong? Why shouldn't everybody sing (sing sing sing) Sing their own special song If you want what you want and you know what it is Then you're one step further than some. Seen the morning papers trying to fool me with their ideologies Trying to tell me they're right Yet here am I conveying my own story Saying that I'm the one that's right But why should I be so right? And why should they be so wrong? Why shouldn't everybody sing (sing sing sing) Sing their own special song If you want what you want and you know what it is Then you're one step further than some of my friends If there is truth Then there is a lot of explaining to be done By many folk But if life is really not much at all Then everythingI am is a joke - Ha Ha Seen so many idiots just not interested in many things They don't use their heads to think. Seen people drifting from extremity to extremity Seen people with no time to think. But why should I be so right? And why should they be so wrong? Why shouldn't everybody sing (sing sing sing) Sing their own special song If you want what you want and you know what it is Then you're one step further than some of my friends But why should I be so right? But why should you be so right? But why should we be so right? Right, Right. Instrumental to fade....
