Story behind the song
A fascination with the and tall ships - perhaps inherited from my father who was a sailor in his youth. That was tempered by a knowledge that the wealth of many in this country and elsewhere was gained on the backs of slaves and that the maritime age hand it's hands dirty in many respects. But the sea is a great leveller. Contains an unusual guitar solo intended to represent a storm at sea with flying spume and raging waves. Very evocative.
