Lyrics
These Wounds Mike Prather Here I am again Caught between the wrong and the right Here I go again Living out the memory of this fight There's a heart there lying on the table there's a rusted knife on a chair There's still some blood left on that hardwood floor Where you cut me down without care There you are again Slipping back into the darkness of my mind There it is again The same old weariness from trying There's a heart there lying on the table there's a rusted knife on a chair There's still some blood left on that hardwood floor Where you cut me down without care And I could walk out of this desert and I could wonder on down to the sea but there still won't be enough water to wash these wounds from me Here we are again lying in the ashes of our lives Burnt by fire again it was bound to be this way There's a heart there lying on the table there's a rusted knife on a chair There's still some blood left on that hardwood floor Where you cut me down without care And I could walk out of this desert and I could wonder on down to the sea but there still won't be enough water to wash these wounds from me Oh, to wash away these wounds from me

This is very lovely Mike. thank you for taking time to listen and rate "I Only Want to Love You Forever" Hayley
Great American, sorry, great universal song! I love it. Folk at it´s best, story telling, creating moods, solid picking. As I said many times: I don´t need anything beyond that for a wonderful musical experience. Yes, we all share these wounds in a way or another.... And this is what songwriting is all about: Telling the human story. And that´s exactly what you do. Thank you for sharing. It´s beautiful! Cheers from Frankfurt
