An amalgam of anything that passes thru one ear and out the other -- see our Interview page for details.
In our music, you'll hopefully find everything -- rock, orchestral, trip-hop, spacey/ambient, whatever -- most times all in one tune!! Mwah-ha-ha.... We follow no labels, guidelines, trends -- we write what we feel at any given moment; industrial one moment, folk the next. You might hear smatterings of Floyd/Waters/Gilmour, a touch of Mike Nesmith, some Metheny, maybe even some Vangelis or 80's pop, classic rock, sheer noise, Air, Terje Rypdal, and if you really stretch in order to make us seem more relevant to the times, maybe some of The Shins, Sigur Ros, etc. Basically anything that makes a noise can inspire us.

Story behind the song
Dedicated to Dr. Donald Chamberlain John's Schpiel: ..."girl you know well that you've never met..." Definitely a pattern, hmm? This is one of those tunes where you hear a snippet of unfinished lyric (Matt's "Must be today by the weather") and it hauntingly resonates forever in you, til you finally do something about it. This piece I think definitely reflects one of the directions I like taking the most: provide some impressionistic-yet-at-the-same-time-specific imagery, then use instrumental sections to let the listener "fill out the scenery" in the song. "opening.../On the Heights/Main St." and to some extent, "Without," are also attempts at this approach.
Lyrics
Years ago, sometime yesterday, (...by the weather...) you stood outside a door, looking up at an overcast sky... With a sigh, you put away your phone; it wouldn't work (seems like it never worked). And you smiled at me, knowing I wouldn't leave you behind... Does it look to you like there's a chance of snow? (judging by the weather...) "Does it matter?" you said, as you drew yourself closer to me. Then I smiled at you, knowing you wouldn't leave me behind...

This song is so deep and sincere. I love the beautiful ambient sounds and of course the perfect vocal blending. Lastly, as a fellow musician I find this track awe inspiring!
