Story behind the song
this is the only song i've ever written in like 30 minutes--i actually wrote it many moons ago while i was a sophomore at mississippi state university--i scribbled down the lyrics on a piece of notebook paper (that i still have)in my dorm room on the 5th floor of rice hall--what's funny is this is actually my third or fourth time to record this song--i think this recording of the song is more the version that i originally heard in my head.
Lyrics
GET LOST let your hair down let it fly in the wind slip your shoes off make yourself comfortable laugh at yourself you’re probably pretty funny the time of your life is right here it’s here today CHORUS why don’t you get lost in the moment? you can get lost, you’ve been found just for a minute let the world stop around you and get lost in the moment rise with the sun sleep under the twinkling stars sit in the grass and watch the sun set dream with your friends think of tomorrow but never forget the simple things of today (CHORUS) (CHORUS) written by anne davis sometimes i write songs (BMI)
