The Famous Solo from Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven.I recorded it after hearing Paul Gilbert do it at a 2002 NAMM Show. I learned it, sequenced it, and recorded it. It was fun.

Story behind the song
I heard Paul Gilbert play this solo at a 2002 NAMM Show Demostration. It was pretty funny, as he meant it to be. I wondered it I could play it and spent about 20 minutes with the audio file. I put a Cubase SX 1.05 sequence together to play the solo over. I double Tracked the lead (just like Jimmy did) and added a fake crowd in the background (they are actually booing and begging 'No! No!'. Akai's Rotator Plugin was used to simulate Jimmy's Leslie. I played it on an Epiphone Sheriton 335 to capture the feel. I played it close, but not perfect. It is a very awkward solo to play as it falls unnaturally over the fretboard. I was surprized that it so was difficult to play. I expected a basic blues pattern (aeolian mode in 5th position A)but it is played more in the 10 fret position in a dorian mode. Strange.
