Story behind the song
It's about a girl I lived with in LA. Her name was Nancy and she was a nursing student.About a week before I was to go back to Oklahoma, We found her dead in her car from a cerebral hemorrhage. I wrote this the next day about being separated for that day, but it seemed like a million years. Originally entitled "One Day", Nancy's best friend Holly suggested that I just call it "One". The "A day is like a million years, a million years just like a day" is a paraphrase of 2 Peter 3:8.
