Dreams Don't always happen © Mae (Betty) Overstreet I was born in the hills of Oklahoma, skippin'rocks, and catchin fireflies in a jar running thru the hills and meadows dreamed of singing and travelin afar I met a boy in the hills of Oklahoma, he played a guitar and dreamed of being a star So we headed out toward Nashville but his old truck didn't get us very far hitchhikin’ back home ,tears on my cheeks I knew the time just wasn't right So I spent a few years skippin rocks across the creek catching fireflies in the fading light.
