Lyrics
NEWTOWN RAIN Words and Music by Marc Meyers I look to the heavens on this cold dark night the stars are shining their winters light I see broken soldiers with their fettered hearts signaling across the world for the train to start. . The conductor in horror sees his charges tonight in silence he weeps into eternal night carrying the innocence of man today the iron horse of souls goes on its way. Sleep in peace our little ones your heroes are with you now rest your hearts our darling ones youre in a dream world now. All over the world we weep tonight our grief should never be known your train passes slowly into heavenly light the specter of soldiers now gone. Were all part of Newtown now our tears fill in vain blood on our hands all over this land denizens doomed to walk in the Newtown rain. A demon soul with the burnt out eyes swept in from a dark place our own this cloud of pain with its deserted smile shook down the sun from the Newtown skies. You who gave your lives for love your duty bravely shown you hugged our babies, to keep them safe are now the heroes in the choirs song. All over the world it rains our tears for 26 souls whove left us here and sleep with the angels who gaze upon the Newtown rains mournful song. Sleep in peace our little ones your heroes are with you now rest your hearts our darling ones youre in a dream world now. Our Mothers and Fathers on the Hill if they could feel our pain they hold the power all over this land to finally put a stop to the Newtown rain. Marc Meyers 2013
