Story behind the song
This was my Love Sonnet to the Ghetto in which I lived. a beatnik spoken word about how the city streets breathe their own life, just like human beings. This was recorded at The Mad Lab Studios in 1999 during the "Swain" sessions. I remembered a great picture of John Lennon kneeling down on the street with a stethoscope on the pavement, listening to the heart beat of the city & it inspired me to write these lyrics.
